Assistant Nurse Manager - NICU The Assistant Nurse Manager, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, assists with the development, maintenance, and evaluation of an environment that supports the practice of nursing and the delivery of high quality patient care on a twenty-four hour basis for OB/Maternity services and specializes in NICU, but cross trains in all OB specialty areas. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for carrying out assignments in a manner to support success in patient care, financial management, human resources management, leadership, quality and operational management objectives. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in program development and unit performance improvement. The Assistant Nurse Manager may assume duties in the absence of the Nurse Manager, may fulfill the role of the Charge Nurse or provide direct patient care or education as needed. The Assistant Nurse Manager consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees. The Assistant Nurse Manager operationalizes Enloe Medical Center's mission which is to provide high quality, cost effective healthcare for the people in the communities served. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:Must have 3 years acute care nursing experience in a Perinatal setting OB/Maternity Charge Nurse experience desired; Bachelor's degree in nursing or related fieldand recent management experience desired; Membership in a professional organization related to Maternal Child Health and attendance to conferences regarding management and supervision of employees desired. LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:Must have current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing and current CPR recognition. Must have current Neonatal Resuscitation Program and STABLE certification within one year of employment. Certification by the National Certification Corporation, ANA, or other nationally recognized certification program in any of the following specialties desired: ?High Risk Newborn (NICU) ?Low-risk Newborn (Newborn Nursery) ?Maternal Newborn Nursing (Postpartum) L&D SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:Must have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills and make independent decisions. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, and problem solve. Must be able to assist and support with maintenance and evaluation of patient and staff data collection systems and processes. Must be able to effectively monitor, evaluate and assist with administration of the resources of their assigned area. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes is necessary as well as the ability to successfully integrate these into practice for the assigned unit. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally both one-on-one and in groups.
