Description:

Director of Oncology needed for a Hospital in Eastern Texas. Responsible for the effective operational management of the inpatient and outpatient Oncology units. Specific responsibilities include monitoring clinical effectiveness, implementing best practices, and monitoring adherence to regulations. Work interdepartmentally to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Ensure operational efficiency by initiating quality and performance improvement activities. Also, manage all Human Resources and budgetary aspects of the department.

Oncology Unit:
?48 FTE, 55 employees
?27 bed unit
?24-25 average daily census (consistent annually)
?General oncology unit w/ some Med/Surg overflow
?4-bay outpatient chemo
?Oncology nurse education in department
?Current nurse/patient ratio of 1:5, 09? budget for 1:4; CNA/patient ratio of 1:11, ?09 budget for 1:9
?Unit will become part of neurosurgical product line
?Work directly with US Oncology on some research studies
?JCAHO certified

Requirements:

?Current TX RN license
?BSN, Chemotherapy Certification, Certified Oncology Nurse preferred, MSN preferred
?3 years of clinical experience
?3+ years leadership experience required
